Work at Medice

Fourteen open roles across four Portland clinics. Panels are capped, visits are nineteen minutes, and the admin is done by people whose job that is.

Why work here

Eight things we decided on purpose

  • Panels capped at 900

Not a target you are asked to beat. A ceiling, enforced by the rota, and the reason a follow-up is nineteen minutes rather than eleven.

  • Admin is somebody else's job

Prior authorisations, referral chasing and inbox triage are done by a team of nine. Clinicians do not touch them.

  • One record, four buildings

No faxing, no re-taking a history someone took last Tuesday. You open the chart and it is all there.

  • Your scans, read by you

The clinician who requested the image reads it. We do not outsource reporting overnight to a different time zone.

  • Four weeks, actually taken

Plus a week of study leave and the cover booked before you go, so nothing waits on your inbox while you are away.

  • Paid for what you teach

Twelve of our clinicians supervise OHSU students. That time is rostered and paid, not squeezed between patients.

  • Parental leave from day one

Sixteen weeks at full pay, for either parent, with no qualifying period and a phased return if you want one.

  • You will know what you earn

Bands are published on every job page and reviewed annually against Portland market data. There is no negotiation lottery.

Life here

Four buildings, one standard

Pearl District, Lloyd Center, Beaverton and Sellwood. Photographed on ordinary working days, with nothing tidied away for the camera.

Teams

From the team

Three people who work here

  • I came from a system where I carried 2,400 patients. Nine hundred is not a smaller job, it is a different one — I finish notes before I leave and I know who I am seeing tomorrow.

Dr. Tomas HalloranCardiology · joined 2021
  • Nobody has asked me to work through a break in two years. When cover is short they cancel the clinic rather than stretch it, which I had genuinely never seen before.

Dr. Priya RamanPediatrics · joined 2022
  • I read my own scans. After eleven years of writing reports for someone I never met, that is the whole reason I moved.

How hiring works

Four steps, about three weeks

  1. Apply

One form and a CV. No cover letter — we would rather read your answer to the two questions on the form.

  2. A call, thirty minutes

With the person you would report to. It is a conversation about the work, not a competency grid.

  3. A half-day in clinic

Paid at your day rate. You see how we actually run, and the team you would join gets a say.

  4. Offer, with the band shown

The number comes from the published band and where you sit in it. We tell you which point and why.
