Facilities coordinator

Four buildings finished to the same specification, down to the chairs. Somebody has to keep them that way.

The role

What this job actually is

The four clinics were fitted out to one specification and the practice intends to keep them there, which is a maintenance job as much as a design one. Based at Beaverton, covering all four buildings on a published weekly pattern.

Three days, and genuinely three — the contractors are managed inside the rostered day, and out-of-hours works are scheduled rather than attended.

Day to day

What you would be doing

  • Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across the four clinics
  • Manage contractors on site, including their access and their paperwork
  • Keep statutory compliance current: fire, water, lifts, waste and equipment servicing
  • Run the consumables and furniture ordering for all four buildings
  • Report on the estate's condition quarterly, honestly, before something fails

What we need

What you would bring

  • Two years in facilities, estates or building maintenance coordination
  • Familiarity with statutory compliance regimes for a healthcare or public building
  • Confident managing contractors and holding them to a standard
  • A driving licence, since this post covers four buildings

How hiring works

Four steps, about three weeks

  1. Apply

One form and a CV. No cover letter — we would rather read your answer to the two questions on the form.

  2. A call, thirty minutes

With the person you would report to. It is a conversation about the work, not a competency grid.

  3. A half-day in clinic

Paid at your day rate. You see how we actually run, and the team you would join gets a say.

  4. Offer, with the band shown

The number comes from the published band and where you sit in it. We tell you which point and why.
