Clinical philosophy
A stent is a tool, not an answer
Opening an artery relieves symptoms. It does not, on its own, change what happens in five years — the tablets and the walking do that, and the conversation is worth as much as the procedure.
He will show you the angiogram. Most people find the picture easier than the description, and a decision made looking at the thing is a decision that holds.
He is explicit about what a procedure will not fix. Breathlessness that is not cardiac stays breathlessness afterwards, and it is better to know that before than after.
